About Us

Founded By Summit Real Estate Group To Extend
Its Culture of Caring

To us, a caring culture means we care about our employees, our partners, our tenants, our associates, and our community.

In Summer 2022, we realized that the demand for the commercial real estate services we were providing, at either no cost or at cost, seemed insatiable as we regularly received calls for help.

As we looked out over the landscape of St. Louis, we realized that the work we had been providing had impact and was important to the revitalization of St. Louis including areas of poverty in our community.

Therefore, in July of 2022, we commissioned a study to determine if other nonprofits had a need for professional and affordable real estate services. The results were not surprising and indicated that the need was real.

We also believe that to “whom much is given, much is expected.” We have been blessed and in turn have used our real estate skills, experience, and relationships to assist numerous St. Louis focused nonprofits to achieve their mission over the past twenty-five years.

With that understanding, Mission Realty Advisors, a 501(c)3, was founded in January 2023 in response to the growing impact of commercial real estate on the ability of today’s nonprofits to continue and broaden their missions.

Executive Director Peter Kinsella

We are led by Executive Director Peter Kinsella, former Senior Vice President, Development and Asset Management with Summit Real Estate Group. Pete has over 35 years’ experience in real estate development, facility, and property management in both commercial and residential sectors. Pete led Summit’s development of the Centene Community Ice Center, an $84 million four-sheet ice rink project completed in 2019 by the nonprofit Legacy Ice Foundation, and today oversees the re-development of a long-abandoned 90,000 square foot shopping center in North St. Louis County for the benefit of the nonprofit Refuge & Restoration.

Pete works closely with our board of directors to develop and approve client relationships and oversee all operations. Our board members are passionate about advancing the mission of nonprofits across the St. Louis region and have significant experience in commercial real estate development and construction, finance, nonprofit leadership, and government. Mission Realty Advisors represents the culmination of Summit Real Estate Group’s years of service within the St. Louis community.

For more than a quarter of a century, Summit has pursued long-lasting corporate and community relationships with the goal of fostering positive outcomes for and with employees, partners, vendors, investors, and surrounding communities where they do business. Summit, and its principals, actively engage in activities, programs, and initiatives that support local communities. Their expertise in commercial real estate has allowed them the opportunity to provide unique value to numerous important causes. Examples include:

R&R Marketplace 2

Summit has actively been involved in efforts to resolve gaps in services, equity, and education within certain St. Louis-area communities through R&R Marketplace in Ferguson, MO. Summit has served in a leadership role since R&R Marketplace’s beginning as it seeks to serve individuals and families in the region through workforce development, early childhood education, financial empowerment, entrepreneurial advancement, and a multi-plex facility that will host community structured opportunities.

Founded in 2017 as the result of a merger between The Children’s Home Society of Missouri and Family Resource Center, Family Forward moves vulnerable children in the direction of hope by delivering comprehensive therapeutic and educational services to support biological, foster, and adoptive families. With a staff of 156 clinical, professional, and administrative personnel, FamilyForward provides innovative solutions and services for children and families including trauma assessment and psychological evaluation, therapy, coaching and education, and a therapeutic preschool. In 2021, in an effort to better serve the St. Louis community, FamilyForward took steps to relocate one of their four locations and engaged Summit to support the process of identifying, acquiring, and building-out a new facility. Summit’s involvement included oversight of the due diligence process, acquisition, design, construction, vendor management, budgets, and project schedule.
